First Annual New Year’s Feast

Yesterday was my birthday. Decided I’m starting out my 24th year of life with a blog about… food. Guess we’ll try it out, see how it goes. I love cooking, and even more so, love to eat. So I can’t think of a better blog topic than food.. Actually I probably could, but let’s go with this for now. So, first entry will cover our annual New Year’s Eve feasts. Tom and I have a tradition where, every year on New Year’s Eve, give or take a day, we make a huge feast of food – 3 things – and stuff our faces. Basically.

FIRST FEASTThe classic. New Years ’06

This was the classic feast upon which all subsequent feasts were based. Top left we have pretty much one of my top five favorite things:

Orgasmic Cheese Dip:

Big block of velveeta
 Jar of chunky salsa
1 lb. ground beef, browned and drained

-Throw everything in a crockpot, stir it up, and DONE. Magic. Smother in jalapenos.

Below the dip are:

Tom’s Original Wrap Creations:

Tortillas
Green onion
Ham slices
Cream Cheese

-Spread cream cheese on tortillas, add on green onion and a few ham slicecs, and roll it up. It’s good!

And the final dish; another one of my faves:

Veggie Pizza:

2 cans of Crescent rolls
2-8 oz pkgs of cream cheese, softened
1/3-ish cup of Miracle Whip
Bunch o’ veggies
Shredded cheddar

-Unwrap crescent rolls to make a single layer of crust on a cookie sheet. Bake according to package instructions. Let cool. Mix together softened cream cheese and Miracle Whip. After crust is cooled, spread cream cheese mixture over it. Chop up veggies (pretty small) and layer over cream cheese mixture (I like: broccoli, red/green pepper, cauliflower, carrots, green onions, etc.). Sprinkle shredded cheddar over finished pizza.
YUMMAY!
