Friday night we decided to try Carlyle Grill, since it is right next to the movie theater and we were planning to go see Iron Man 2 later.
I started with a bowl of the soup of the day, Rock Shrimp & Corn Chowder. And let me tell you, it was fantastic! Smoky, spicy, savory, thick, delicious! Enjoyed with a big, cold Oberon. Tom’s house salad is in the background.
For my entree I decided on the Steak Salad, served with an "8oz. steak with tomatoes, bacon & crumbled blue cheese." Look at all the blue cheese!!! I didn’t even need the dressing. Served on a huge pile of baby greens. The steak was divine; it’s been a long time since I’ve eaten steak.
For dessert, we couldn’t resist our server’s Carrot Cake recommendation, so we ordered this big piece (4′"x4"!). The frosting was utterly divine. The cake was so moist and not overly sweet, and the cream cheese frosting was utterly divine and oh-so-rich.
We walked over to the movie theater for Iron Man 2, and once the movie got out there was a MONSOON outside (and of course we were parked oh-so far away), so we had to make a run for it. What’s with all the rain this month!?
