Friday I took off work to extend my holiday weekend, but Tom had to work. For dinner, we tried another new restaurant, Mediterrano, which is only a couple minute drive from our house. The meal started out with some crusty bread, which did not taste homemade, but was warm and fresh regardless. On it, we slathered some of the garlicky butter spread (I missed the explanation of what this was from the server), which was tasty.
For my entree, I ordered Jerusalem Chicken. Here is the menu description of this dish: "white wine poached chicken breast, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, lemon juice & chive-citrus cream sauce." This was served over a bed of rice (which had a very faint taste of cinnamon or cloves or nutmeg or some "warm" spice I could not figure out), and topped with a dollop of, well… possibly Crème fraiche? Or maybe just sour cream. Something rich, creamy, and delicious, in any case. This dish was really rich, and I really enjoyed it.
I loved the colors in Tom’s dish, below. He ordered the Chicken Manestra, "orzo pasta with grilled chicken breast, sautéed mushrooms, sweet bell pepper, feta cheese, fresh cream & nutmeg."

Overall, I really enjoyed my meal at Mediterrano, and saw other things on the menu I would like to try in the future, but did think the food was a bit overpriced, and the atmosphere just wasn’t the liveliest.
