Iced Coffee Smoothie – Trial #2

Greetings! Last weekend, you may remember my first attempt to make an Iced Coffee Smoothie – which was a bit of a fail. Today I decided to try again, with vastly different proportions of ingredients.

Here are the ingredients in the blender:

Here is how last week’s Trial #1 ingredients list compared to this week’s Trial #2 list:

Trial #1

  • 8 oz. strongly brewed coffee
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pkt Splenda
  • 2 cups of ice
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon

Trial #2:
  • 18 oz. strongly brewed coffee
  • 1 T. fat-free half and half
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 pkts of Splenda
  • 4 cups of ice

So…lots more coffee, lots less milk and/or cream, more ice, more Splenda. Result: Thicker, as desired, but it separated into two parts – liquid, at the bottom, and the icy part at the top. Coffee flavor was stronger than last time, but still not strong enough. Also, a bit too sweet. Still needs improvement!
