After five weekends of home Michigan football games in a row in Ann Arbor, I haven’t wanted to dare traveling to Biercamp on a Saturday for a while (both my house and Biercamp are within a mile or so of the Big House).
This Saturday was our first away game of the season (and natch, we whooped some Northwestern bootay), so I ventured over to Biercamp for a pack of brats to enjoy with the football game later in the evening.
It was so unbelievably gorgey outside this weekend in Ann Arbor… the sun, the warmth, the fall colors! :: SWOON :: It’s just too much to handle. I mean, RUSRS? Look at this tree beside Biercamp:
Love this place – and they treat us so well! We were treated to a fun little sample I’ll be sharing with you in an upcoming post.
However, we are addicted to the out-of-this world brats. This week we tried a pack of Biercamp’s “Autumn Harvest Bratwurst,” filled with apples, butternut squash, walnuts, maple, and more.
Pretty autumn evening lighting.
Nice hot fire on the grill. Cue salivation:
I didn’t even intentionally plan it this way, but the two sides I’d had in mind for dinner were roasted butternut squash and Granny Smith apples with caramel – which just happened to coordinate perfectly with our Autumn Harvest Brats. The butternut squash, by the way, was from our CSA and was AWESOME. I am a squash fanatic, if you were not aware. It’s always been a favorite of mine since I was a kid!
The brats, too, were fantastic! Can’t get over how good these babies are.
Dessert: Cupcake Station cupcakes!
I had a Chocolate Salted Caramel cupcake for dessert – super dark, most cake with sea salt-sprinkled caramel frosting. Ooh baby.
The next day I tried my ‘Fall Into Pumpkin’ cupcake and it was KILLER, dude. Maple White Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting. ‘Nuff said.
