I know I say it every year, but summer meals involving the grill really are the best! The huz fired up the grill last night and built a fire that he described as an especially “good one.”
Meanwhile, indoors, I prepared Corn, Black Bean, & Avocado Salad. The salad is dressed in lime juice, salt, pepper, minced jalapeño, and cilantro.
This time, I used grilled fresh corn. The huz grilled three cobs, which I sliced off the cob and added to this salad. Simply amazing! This is one of my summer go-to recipes.
Not only did we visit Biercamp yesterday, but also a whole slew of other local jaunts during a long errand-running spree, including the Produce Station (for a hanging flower basket!), RoosRoast, Party City, Meijer, Kroger, Briarwood Mall, and the dollar store. Woman on a mission.
I specially selected the front brat below because of that buttery end section that is about to burst with melty pepper jack cheese. Oh my.
For dessert, cupcakes! Vanilla Latte for me and What’s Up Doc for the huz.
As has been documented, I am a HUGE doodler. It is a relentless habit. All through college, my notes were covered in doodles, my work calendar is covered in doodles by the end of each month, and today when I was researching hotels online, I took a break to doodle the huz’s handsome face. Not too shabby, eh?! What a cutie.
Speaking of hotels, tonight I booked a hotel in Florence, Italy for our future Europe trip, and I have to admit that one of the deciding factors was the fact that the hotel I selected is less than 0.1 miles from a purportedly AMAZING gelateria.
My goal is to consume gelato every.single.day that I am in Italy.
