Season’s Greetings! Hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas. I know that I was very lucky to have great holiday this year.
As has been customary for the past few years, Christmas Eve was spent at my aunt and uncle’s house with my immediate family, aunts and uncle, and cousins.
A spread of appetizers, including a really great roasted red pepper hummus and spinach and artichoke dip. Pretty sure I could have downed the entire vat of spin dip for dinner and been satisfied – so good!
Pre-dinner socialization. The huz and I:
My cousin David, wife Katie, and my first cousin once removed, Alexis, who is just THE cutest little dear. Here she is waving:
Mom & daughters:
Action shot! Dinner preparations.
Hanging around the kitchen island.
My aunt is a fabulous cook. So much excellent food!
Gourmet salad. Loved the pom seeds!
My plate:
So difficult to decide. I later had one of the peppermint kiss cookies too. The mascarpone frosting on the cupcake was to-die-for. I am not a big fan of overly-sweet icing, so this was fab!
Sweet Alexis and her rosy cheeks.
The pups quickly claimed stake on this new chair.
Christmas morning at my parents’ – HOLY present pile!
I received so many nice gifts this year! You shall see many of them on the blog in the next few days, I am certain!
One of gifts was a Wolverine Pillow Pet from the huz. Um, can you tell we are Michigan fans in this house!? We are both alums.
After a rather EPIC gift-opening-session, we enjoyed a giant brunch. Told you breakfast sausage is my fave!
Daisy enjoyed her Christmas Milkbones.
Later in the afternoon the huz and I headed north for a visit with his grandparents where we were fed even more food – meat pie and pecan pie! We are so spoiled. We even brought some treats home – pretty sure they’ll show up here in the blog over the next few days!
Later in the evening, after arriving back home, we turned on A Chipmunk Christmas – an absolute favorite of mine.
Our late dinner/evening snack was a heaping pile of my Aunt’s sausage and wild rice dish (swoon!) along with some pepper jack cheese, and horseradish dip with crackers. Later we got into some cookies as well. I enjoyed red wine in my new stemless Mikasa wine glasses – a Christmas gift. Just love these babies! They will get so much use.
Hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season! Thanks so much for reading!
Merry Christmas!! WE loved seeing your dinner party! WE missed you! Thanks for delish pears!
You are welcome! Hope you had a great holiday too!
