Four Days Shy of Twenty-Seven

I had a fabulous weekend with friends and family, and lots of good eats!

Friday Happy Hour at Mélange. Half-off appetizers, sushi rolls, wine, beer, and well cocktails. Such an awesome deal, but it only runs Monday through Friday between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, so get there early!

Duck nachos seemed to be the hit of the night at our table. Several people from the office went out for food and drinks on Friday night, and we must have ordered at least three or four of these nacho platters for our table of eight people.

I’ve had the duck nachos in the past, so I just had one, and then, I’m not ashamed to admit, I pretty much dominated this entire Beef Rangoon appetizer and a sushi roll.

The Red Dragon roll was amazing.

I also redeemed a birthday coupon at Palm Palace this weekend. I am a member of Palm Palace’s email list, and received their generous birthday coupon for a free entrée with the purchase of another. I started with one of their fabulous frozen lemonades made with tons of fresh mint, and one of their delicious salads.

I ordered my standard – my favorite entrée is the Lamb Shwarma with Hommus. SO GOOD. Everything consistently tastes awesome at Palm Palace.

The huz had a (whole) deboned chicken, and ate about half. Hooray for leftovers!image (6)

Homemade Brownies for Two with Peanut Butter Chips were consumed this weekend.

On Sunday I had my early birthday celebration with the fam, including my parents, sis, and the huz. We went to Weber’s for their fantastic brunch, because you know brunch is my FAVE!

Weber’s has an amazing array of delicious homemade brunch offerings, including, biscuits with sausage gravy, wild rice pilaf with a slow-cooked beef and mushrooms, quiche, scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, fresh pastries, fruit, and a ham carving station, all served hot and fresh.

My first plate! The beef and mushroom dish over the wild rice pilaf was my favorite – SO good!!image (9)

For my second plate, I hit up the fresh fruit and the waffle station, where I loaded up freshly-made waffles with all sorts of delicious toppings. Mine had butter, maple syrup, chocolate chips, and cherry pie filling.

Brunch is definitely my favorite meal! I highly recommend Weber’s brunch. (The coffee was really good, too, for the record.)

After brunch, I was spoiled with birthday gifts.

Cupcake wrapping paper!

Can’t wait to try out this new vac – hopefully will come in super handy for quick clean up jobs in the corners of my wood floors, the stairs, and my car.

Coffee from my favorite coffee place – Espresso Royale. Always a winner!

The huz has a birthday coming up soon, too – two weeks after mine. He’ll stay warm in this new cozy hoodie!
