This weekend was so good for my soul.
My Memorial Day Weekend can be summed up in four themes.
1. Drinks
Cocktails at Happy Hour. Beer on the porch. Craft beer. Iced Coffee. Iced Tea. More Coffee.
2. Food
Burgers on the grill. Wedge salad and steak at Blue Tractor. Homemade pasta salad. KFC, in honor of the anniversary of our first date at KFC nine years ago. Grilled brats. Happy Hour appetizers at Ravens Club.
3. Sweet Treats.
Iorio’s Gelato. Donuts from Fractured Prune (more on that soon!). Ice Cream at Calder Dairy Farm.
4. Outdoors
Flower shopping at the Produce Station. Garden supply shopping. Planting flowers all afternoon Saturday.
Visit to Calder Dairy Farm with the huz for our “Sunday Funday” Date. I heart this guy so much.
Running 5K to balance out all those treats.
Kayaking 5.7 miles down the Huron River with my BFF! It was awesome seeing this gal!
I’m not sure if I’ve ever been so grateful for such a gorgeously warm and sunny Michigan weekend in my life, after that brutal winter. – it was absolutely wonderful.
Here’s to more sunny fun weekends this summer!
Wow, awesome treats all around! And nine years! Where does the time go? Congrats! 🙂
It’s been a while! 🙂
Sounds like so much fun! I envy you the Iorio’s…I miss that place!
Yes indeed! Iorio’s is the best!
Sounds like a lovely holiday weekend! I explored Grand Rapids this weekend, checked out a couple bars and restaurants in Eastown and downtown, and met some locals at a barbecue. It was a beautiful weekend weather-wise in the mitten — perfect for alfresco dining!
Very fun! Al fresco dining is THE best! Hope you enjoyed.
