Howdy! How is your Saturday going? I thought I would pop in this weekend and say hello!
As promised in my last post, I’ve been highly enjoying all the summer foods. Like Strawberry Rhurbarb Crumble! I’ve just about mastered this recipe by now and can whip it up in no time. If you cut down on the sugar and flour (and I like to add more oats), it’s actually pretty waistline friendly. It’s one of my favorite things to make in the summer, using homegrown rhurbarb from my parents’ house. I made a batch a couple nights ago and we’ve been enjoying it.
Last night I made a HelloFresh meal: Brioche Shrimp Rolls with Butter Lettuce & Radish Salad. They were very tasty but the portion size was a bit stingy so I supplemented with a few Alexia onion rings. (Also, because I got home from work and had to anxiously [and hungrily] wait about 2 hours for UPS for delivery our shipment from HelloFresh! I perched in my front window and stalked my driveway until I saw him running down the sidewalk with our shipment. For the record, it did arrive on time, as promised [before 8pm.])
After running some errands this morning, this afternoon (in between the rain showers!) we journeyed to the Arb to check out the blooming peonies. The Arb is probably my favorite place in Ann Arbor, and I always try to make it in sometime in late May to see The Peony Garden.
While we were there, we snapped a Week 27 bumpie pic. Baby boy is as big as a cauliflower this week!
I am very much looking forward to attending Taste of Ann Arbor downtown tomorrow, Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 11am-5pm. Will I see you there? Hopefully the weather cooperates!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
You look great! My husband and I love rhubarb. So many people don’t, and they are silly.
Thank you!! Rhubarb is highly underrated!
