Our nursery is ready for baby! I’ve been itching to work on our nursery for months but didn’t get a chance to begin until we moved into our new place about a month ago. Finally (almost) everything is in place!
The day after we closed on our new home, we immediately had a contractor come in to install window coverings on all of the windows. Kind of necessary for privacy! Most of the windows simply have blinds on them for now, but we did get a fun green valance in the baby’s room to liven things up a bit.
We’ve known we wanted a bear-themed nursery since we first found out we were expecting, and I found this adorable bedding set at Target. I would like to hang the bear quilt on the wall but am still searching for a compatible quilt hanger.
For our crib, we picked out the DaVinci Kalani for its rave Amazon reviews – it was baby gift from my parents. I just love the way it looks and it seems very solid and functional.
Matching bear mobile hangs over baby’s head.
We also bought a relatively affordable Stork Craft Hoop Glider and Ottoman set, and a nightstand for baby’s room. I couldn’t resist the matching honey bear lamp either! I also placed a new hamper in baby’s room.
The Rock ‘n’ Play in the left corner will probably move around the house with us, but for now we have it in the nursery. I’ve heard great things about the Rock n’ Play!
Baby definitely has the best closet in the house! I love all the shelves we had installed in the closet, and there is tons of hanging space.
We received so many wonderful gifts at our baby shower – his closet is well-stocked!
Most of the clothing we have is (are? why am I struggling with this?) from consignment shops, hand-me-downs gifted from friends, and from Mom2Mom sales. We do have a few brand-new clothing items too, but most of the clothes are used. Little ones grow out of them so quickly that it almost seems a shame to buy a bunch of new clothes when such nice gently-used ones can be found for a fraction of the price (or for free, in the case of some generous friends!) I’ve washed everything and hung them in order by size.
The dresser (and nightstand, shown a few photos above) are from Wayfair.com and we’re pretty happy with them so far.
Atop the dresser we’ve secured a changing pad, and we also have storage bins filled with swaddle blankets, towels, wash cloths, burp cloths, personal care items, wipes, and diaper-changing goodies.
More bears!
I can’t wait to bring baby home! He will sleep in our room in a Pack ‘n’ Play napper for the first couple months, but I know lots of baby bonding time will happen in this room over the years.
T minus 19 days until his due date!
Thanks for having us to see it in person today! I read this post and seeing the pictures. I still get goosebumps. It’s so exciting! Beautiful nursery. Our grandson-to-be is lucky to have such awesome parents! ❤
