Winter, Wave Good Bye

Well hello! It’s been a minute since my last post but today I thought I would share what we’ve been up to this winter. Today we are enjoying an unseasonably warm 60 degree day in February and it has been fantastic. I think it got me thinking that I should document winter, hope we’ve seen the worst of it, and cross our fingers that that the weeks ahead would will stay warmer. But we live in Michigan, so who am I kidding?

Anyways, since my last post in the fall, we’ve been..

…rocking maize ‘n’ blue…

…also rockin’ cozy penguin jammies on cold winter mornings…

…attended our first Christmas parade…

…taken up and put down a Christmas tree (with a gate around it this year, to keep out you-know-who!)…

…visited Santa Claus (no tears!)…

…had fun with Jack’s new play kitchen (our Christmas gift to him, assembled by the huz over the course of 8+ hours!)…

…hung around the house…

…explored the Chelsea Treehouse over our holiday break (he was a still a little young for the place, and the toddler-safe space was nice to have, but smaller than expected)…

…had a few snuggly sick days (I caught a terrible stomach bug the night after Christmas! And Jack has battled a few bugs picked up from daycare, etc.)…

…licked some windows (just Jack on this one)…

…eaten some tasty meals (kiddo loves to eat and can be picky but eats a pretty good variety of foods overall – current favorites are blackberries and blueberries, whole wheat waffles with jam, cauliflower, and veggie rigatoni)….

…made many outings to the conservatory at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens in Ann Arbor, which is so fantastic to visit year-round but especially in winter…

…run wild in the cacti and succulents room…

…J roamed around like he owned the place…

The huz and I also finally escaped for our first true date night without the kiddo and it was wonderful. Dinner at Knight’s downtown Ann Arbor, and a movie (La La Land!) We were supposed to go out again on my birthday earlier this month, but J got sick so we’ll have to reschedule a babysitter for another evening.

I did get a pretty fantastic gift from the huz for my b-day though – loving my new Nespresso machine and milk frother. It is one of the Vertuoline machines. My parents spoiled me with gifts too. Smile

One of my favorite pics of J lately!

Jack’s two current favorite things are:

…reading books…

…and going outside!

A few weeks ago we visited Tecumseh during their annual ice carving festival. We saw Olaf and J flipped!

My two boys made me feel special this Valentine’s Day too.IMG_3811

And as mentioned before, today the weather has been glorious – approaching 60 degrees in mid-February. So we took a trip to the Domino’s Farms Petting Farm. J just loved it! He blew kisses to all the animals and practiced his animals noises. He also chuckled when the cow tried licking dada’s hand.

Well, so that’s what we’ve been up to lately. Thanks for stopping by!
