Well hello dear blog readers! You didn’t think I forgot about you, I hope. Because I did not. But life has been keeping me busy this summer and all I have are excuses for slacking on the blog. For one, we moved! Kind of anticlimactic that this was the past photo I took at our … Continue reading

Photo of the Week–Juicy Tomatoes
I have a perfectly summery photo this week! Farmer Mark of EMMA Acres was stationed outside the entrance to Biercamp this afternoon. After stocking up on Biercamp bratwurst(!), I also picked up a gorgeous variety of tomatoes to bring home with me. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s grilling feast!
Cookies by the POUND
Well I enjoyed kayaking so much last weekend that I wanted to go again this past weekend. Last weekend Five Cent Femme was my trusty sidekick, but this weekend I brought the huz along. Let’s just say the trip was, uh, interesting and leave it at that, shall we? Dinner was on my own since … Continue reading
Watermelon Feta Salad
Another summer weekend done. This Sunday morning I actually did set my alarm, unlike the day before – but it was for a 10:00 AM wake up call. Not shabby! After I got up, for “brunch” I ate the other half of my MBD’s Coach’s Reuben with half of a big pickle spear and a … Continue reading
Easy Grilled Potato Skewers
Hey friends. Have you been taking advantage of grilling season? We have. We tried a new easy method for grilling potatoes, that I found on the Kraft website this week. Easy Potato Skewers Recipe from Kraft Foods For these potato skewers, I first washed several red potatoes, and microwaved them for about 10 minutes with … Continue reading
Important Life Goals
I know I say it every year, but summer meals involving the grill really are the best! The huz fired up the grill last night and built a fire that he described as an especially “good one.” Meanwhile, indoors, I prepared Corn, Black Bean, & Avocado Salad. The salad is dressed in lime juice, salt, … Continue reading
Scenes Before Easter
Happy Easter! It’s been a fun, chill weekend around here. Last evening the huz grilled a few Smoked Gouda and Portobello Biercamp brats, and this flavor was heavenly, just like last time we made them. On the side, I made one of our favorite accompaniments to grilled meats: Dilled Potato Salad, with cooked redskins, lemon … Continue reading
Barbeque Craving
As I was typing the title to this post, I found myself second-guessing the spelling of BBQ. Barbeque? Barbecue? Is it just me, or do they both look right? At this point, I have typed them each so many times that I can’t tell the difference. I think I will go with “barbeque” since the … Continue reading
Food Swoons
This week’s Food Swoons: Biercamp Brats – We tried a new flavor: Gouda Portobello. These were amazing and are probably my second favorite Biercamp brat, second only to Jalapeno Pepperjack, of course! The melty gouda tasted incredible and was abundant, and paired well with the earthy mushroom component of the brats. Roasted Brussels Sprouts & … Continue reading
Biercamp + Cupcake Station Delights
After five weekends of home Michigan football games in a row in Ann Arbor, I haven’t wanted to dare traveling to Biercamp on a Saturday for a while (both my house and Biercamp are within a mile or so of the Big House). This Saturday was our first away game of the season (and natch, … Continue reading
